The mineralogic system is based on chemical composition and crystal structure, i.e. on the basis of the crystallochemistry. The system developed by H. Strunze is carefully worked-out and generally accepted. Last edition of this book appeared in 2001. This Strunze´s system is also applied here with some slight modifications suggested by J.H.Bernard et al. (Encyclopedy of minerals, 1992). All the minerals are classified into 10 classes (in the Strunze´s system 9 classes) which are further subdivided into divisions, subdivision (families) and groups.
