Somasteroida

A class of echinoderms comprising "sea stars"-like animals of generalized structure, the jaws often only partly developed, and the skeletal elements of the arm arranged in a double series of transverse rows termed metapinnules. Their evolutionary history is short - they occur since Lower to the Middle Ordovician. Source: Mergl, 2002 http://www.kbi.zcu.cz/veda/paleontologie/zoopaleontologie/ostnokozci/index.php
